Energy Practice
Our energy practice is largely domestic and increasingly focused on the convergence of natural gas and electricity and the emerging role of unregulated energy services companies. Our attorneys have experience representing major energy clients before state and federal agencies including the Virginia State Corporation Commission, the Virginia Gas and Oil Board, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. In addition to traditional regulatory matters, we are assisting clients with commercial matters in the evolving competitive marketplace and with the development of major energy infrastructure and associated commercial and regulatory issues. Our attorneys are active in efforts to restructure the electric and natural gas industries in Virginia and nationally and are well-versed in pertinent state and federal regulatory provisions.
Our clients include natural gas exploration and production companies, interstate and intrastate natural gas pipelines, local distribution companies, energy marketers, energy services companies and related trade associations. We have also assisted independent power producers/nonutility generators.
Telecommunications Practice
Our telecommunications practice provides services to both landline and wireless communications companies particularly competitive local exchange (CLEC), and long distance carriers. We have assisted clients with applications for certificates of public convenience and necessity, tariffs, and resale and interconnection agreements.
