Gen is a member of the firm’s Corporate, Health Care, and Real Estate & Finance practice groups.
She represents businesses in all aspects of their commercial activities, including formation, raising capital, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, real estate transactions and day-to-day business advice.
Gen's clients include banks, manufacturing and service companies of all sizes, and a wide variety of physician and other professional practices.
Gen's recent speaking engagements have included seminars on Real Estate Purchase and Sale Transactions, Negotiation Strategies for Women Physicians, and ways to avoid Professional Liability in Telemedicine.
Gen served as President of Commercial Real Estate Women-Richmond, a multi-specialty network of women real estate professionals, in 2005. She has also been a member of the Steering Committee of Go Read, a community-wide initiative to connect people in the metropolitan Richmond region through reading and discussion. A graduate of the Metro Richmond Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Metro Richmond program (Class of 1990), Gen also served as President of the Metropolitan Richmond Women's Bar Association (1992-93) and has chaired both the Committee on Area Bar Associations and the Public Service Committee of the Richmond Bar Association.
In law school, she was the Research Editor of the Notre Dame Lawyer (since renamed Notre Dame Law Review).
Gen is a member of the American Bar Association (Business Section and Health Law Section), Metropolitan Richmond Women's Bar Association, Richmond Bar Association, Commercial Real Estate Women-Richmond (CREW), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
